Southville ‘TOPS’ Scholarship: Now Accepting Applicants

The search for the 2022 Top Outstanding Performing Student (TOPS) is on!

Scholarship grants await graduating grade 12 students from public and private schools for the Academic Year 2022-2023 as Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) and South SEED-LPDH College launch this year’s search for the Top Outstanding Performing Students (TOPS). 

Aspirants are assessed based on their academic performances and general student profiles that must exemplify the school’s core values, the 5 Cs – Competence, Character, Commitment to Achieve, Collaboration, and Creativity. To date, Southville has graduated more than 200 hundred TOPS Awardees who were given scholarships and are now competent professionals in their respective careers, ranging from technology, business, tourism and healthcare.

Magna Cum Laude Andrea Alcantara from the College of Tourism immediately landed a supervisory position and is currently a Service Leader at Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts. She handles different Shangri-La properties in Southeast Asia and Australasia (Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Australia, and Fiji)She was notable for prestigious awards like the Manny Villar Excellence Awardee, a delegate of the 16th Apac Chrie Conference for Research Paper Stand-up Presentation at Guangzhou, China (2018), and champion of the 4th Lyceum of the Philippines Tourism Inter-Skills Competition for Tour Packaging to name a few. 

Graduating BS Tourism student, Kiel Martin Gutierrez is the first student leader so honored to top the 10 Outstanding Tourism Students of the Junior Tourism and Hospitality Management Association of the Philippines (JTHMAP).  Kiel has been constantly ranked Top 1 Dean’s Lister of Southville Institute of Tourism (SIT), a recipient of SIT Leadership, Academic Excellence, and Competence Award 2021, Recipient of Unsung Hero of the Year 2020 by Southville Student Affairs, was among the top scorers from the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) 2021, and an advocate of #BangonCatanduanes Social Responisbility Project among many others. Guitierrez has a GWA of 3.44 as of December 2021.

Aspirant and most recent recipient of the TOPS grant is Cristianna Manalo with a GWA of 97 in 12th grade in her previous school. Apart from excelling in her academics and landing in the Top ten percent of the graduating class of 800 + students, Cristianna was also the  Student Council president in 10th grade and the LAPPRISA 2019 Impromptu Speaking Contest Champion. She is currently taking a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Southville.

Interested applicants are required to submit Certificate of Ranking with GWA, Certificate of Good Moral Character, Photocopy of Grade 11 and 1st Quarter of Grade 12  Report Cards, Photocopy of Birth Certificate, and 2×2 pictures.
