Spectra of emotions fly in SISC’s Spoken Poetry Contest

The Southville College Division held a Spoken Poetry Contest at the newly opened Monarchs Park in celebration of College Love Fest. Aimed to provide an avenue for students to express their talents in literary and public speaking, the contestants came from the different college programs of Southville.

Cyrille Estapia, a 3rd Year BSBA Financial Management student, was named Grand Champion of the competition followed by Julette Peque, a 3rd Year BS Information Technology student, as 1st Runner-Up and James Delgado, a 3rd Year BS Entrepreneurship student, as 2nd Runner-Up.

The contest theme revolved around things related to love such as romance, heartaches, obsession, and unrequited affection. The contestants are tasked not only to deliver the lines but also to write their pieces. The piece had to be original, brief, and creatively written to grab the hearts of the audience and the judges.
