Southville Officers Attend Red Cross Youth Induction Camp 2012



The Philippine Red Cross – Las Pinas Subchapter with the Red Cross Youth Advisers League recently conducted the 1st RCY (Red Cross Youth) Induction Camp inside the grounds of the Mary Immaculate Parish – Nature’s Church located in Moonwalk Village, Las Pinas City. Southville Launches Programs for Gifted Students



MALACA (Mental ability, Academic achievement, Leadership, Athletics, Creativity, Arts) is Southville International School and Colleges’ (SISC) concept of student giftedness.  Founded in 1990 as a school for the gifted, SISC has made a commitment to develop learners whose knowledge levels surpass that of their peers in other academic institutions.

 

To support this initiative, the Vision And Tasks (V.A.T.) Hashtag Wins Southville Business Plan Competition



Emerging entrepreneurs Ethelbirth Ignacio III, Juan Miguel Antonio de Leon IV, and Dan Allen Lomeda, all Southville BS Entrepreneurship students hurdled first in the recently held Business Plan Competition sponsored by the College of Business and Tourism.
Their business, HASHTAG, allows clients to express their creativity and passion through designing their own shirts which the company will print using top of the line materials.

Songwriter Places in International Tilt



Juan Antonio Tuason of HS III-Patriotism was recognized as one of the semi-finalists in the 2011 International Songwriting Competition (ISC). His song “California” was chosen out of 16,000 entries coming from 115 countries around the world.

 

The International Songwriting Competition is one of the largest songwriting and music contests in the world providing aspiring and established songwriters an opportunity to have their songs heard in the professional, international arena. [Read more]

Communication students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) recently organized a career seminar entitled “Media Talk: Career Opportunities in the Communication and Multimedia Arts Industry.”  Several guest speakers who have made significant contributions in the media industry graced the event to inspire the young audience with the careers that await them as media practitioners.

Southville Recreation and Sports Programs Open



The Varsity Interest Clubs Toward Outstanding Recreation and Sports (V.I.C.T.O.R.S.) held its series of launching recently for Grade School and High School. The program aims to develop the intellectual, athletic or creative calling of Southville students in a fun yet informative setting.

 

Among the interest clubs available to grade school students are Arts & Crafts, Glee Club/SISC Chorale, YES (Young Enthusiasts in Science), School Buzz, Creative Dramatics, Film Appreciation, Book Lovers, Dance Movers, Girl Scouts, Computer, Math, Basketball, Soccer, Badminton, and Karate/Self-Defense among others.

College Gears Up for PACUCOA Accreditation



The Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) College Division will undergo simultaneous accreditation with the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) on February 16-18, 2011 on the following programs: Business Administration, Psychology, Education, Nursing, Information Technology, and Mass Communication.

The entire college community is gearing up for the accreditation visit through a series of orientation on the standards, criteria, and performance indicators set by PACUCOA.
