Southville Launches Media Center



Discover and experience art in technology as Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) launches its state-of-the-art Media Center this January 20 and 21.

 

The new SISC Media Center is equipped with the most up-to-date facilities and equipment in broadcasting, audio-visual production, video editing, recording, graphic design, and animation. Parade of Nations Highlight Southville’s 21st Year



With a very timely theme “Promoting Environmental Sustainability through the 5Cs”, the Basic Education Division of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) held its annual Parade of Nations last October 3, 2011.

 

The event kicked off with the colorful processional led by the students, each class representing a nation. They showcased national costumes, presented bits of information about the country, and performed impressive song and dance numbers as part of the cultural presentations.

College Launches 1st Stock Investment Tournament



The 1st SISC Stock Challenge is an online stock trading competition open to all students of Southville International School and Colleges.  It aims to educate and help first-time investors in understanding how the stock market works.

 

The contest is accessible through the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) website (www.pse.com.ph) which provides players with real-world trading experience while using virtual money. The facility, which is patterned after existing Internet trading facilities of brokers, runs using real-time prices of the PSE.

College of Education Partners with Learning Centers



Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), represented by President Marl Ferenal, recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Director of Ridgeway Child Learning Center (RCLC), Mr. Ryan Almoite, and the Administrator of Advance Resource and Creative Solutions School, Inc. (ARCS), Ms. Redencion Uy to provide the venue, facilities and training to SISC Education students during their practicum. Southville Holds IB Diploma Programme Graduation



The 5th Commencement Exercises of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) was held last June 4, 2011, with Dr. Melva Diamante, President of Southville Foreign University (SFU), as the keynote speaker. Celebrated Artists Join the Roster of SISC Multimedia Arts Faculty



Southville International School and Colleges’ quest for quality education continues with the hiring of two new award-winning faculty members for Multimedia Arts.

 

Ms. Rica Arevalo, whose film Ganap na Babae won an award for excellence in cinematography in the recently concluded Soho International Film Festival will be teaching Film Appreciation and Video Production to the Multimedia Arts students.  Ms. Arevalo finished her bachelor’s degree at the De La Salle University with a degree in Communication Arts and her master’s degree Communication Management form the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

Masscomm Students Join Blued Project



Seven Mass Communication students of Southville International School and Colleges joined The Blued Project, an inter-university design and marketing contest in search of Blued Clothing’s very first Stylepreneurs. They were Jahdiel Abigail Mae Gay, Clarissa Jean Torres, Monica Diaz, Nicollo Ramon Alessandro Lopez, Mary Camille Arce, Jaresa Felipe, and Bernard Lomibao.

Participants were asked to come up with an Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) campaign on how to promote the brand, and a design proposal for the clothing line. Other contenders are students from Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Lyceum of the Philippines University, and University of Sto.Tomas.

Southville Invites Students for its Science Week



Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), together with the Philippine Foundation for Science and Technology, cordially invites grade school and high school students to participate in its forthcoming Science Week on March 1-4, 2011.
The first day of the weeklong program will feature a lecture forum in Biology and the opening of the interactive Science Exhibit provided by the Philippine Foundation for Science and Technology. The exhibition comprises of twenty attractions including a Van De Graff Generator. Expert tour guides will explain the underlying scientific principles behind these exhibits.

Southville Represents Philippines in UN Simulation



Five High School students from Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) joined more than 200 delegates from 40 schools around the world at Georgetown University – School of Foreign Service’s 6th Model United Nations (MUN) conference held last February 3-6, 2011 at Doha, Qatar. The meet provided an unparalleled educational experience for talented secondary school students as they learned about international institutions and the democratic political process through an exciting role-playing experience.
