King’s College London welcomes Southville’s Alumna, Isabelle Young

Our homegrown monarch is set to study abroad at one of the world’s top-ranking universities, King’s College London in January 2019.

In 2016, Isabelle Young graduated at the top of her International Baccalaureate (IB) Class. Having taken IB Biology at Higher Level fostered her interest in the natural science, which only deepened at the university.

Currently in her third year at Emory University, Isabelle is majoring in Biology. She assists in a research laboratory in the Biochemistry Department at the Emory School of Medicine. Outside of research, she is an Executive Board Member of the Asian Student Organization, a Chair [Read more]

Southville – College of Education will gather tomorrow, November 16, to discuss concerns on the alternative programs for students with special needs. The goal of the event is to spread awareness about the most effective strategies SPED educators can attain to improve their Home-School Collaboration Program.  Making this event more fruitful, is a respected Special Education Teacher, Mr. Joel E. ACTS Manila – Southville Ballerinas Join Performance at the CCP

Company member Pam Buot and aspirants Clare Egalla, Pia Mercado and Reese Suarez, who started ballet training at ACTS Manila – Southville under the supervision of Director Jan Manlapig, made it to the roster of the ballet show Narratives in Motion staged last November 4, 2018, at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Main Theater. The ballet company scouted talent from its affiliate schools to come up with twenty aspirants and seven company members who presented the show’s message of redemption and new beginnings.

The annual search for Top Outstanding Performing Students (T.O.P.S.) will happen on November 17, 2018 open to graduating public and private high school students all over the country. The search is conducted yearly by Southville Global Education Network (SGEN) through Southville International School and Colleges, duly recognized by the Department of Education as the “School of the Future” and internationally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in the U.S.A. “Giving back is among the most important and most valuable things that we are proud to do! And there is no greater joy in the world than to put smiles on children’s faces.” Thus shared members of the Southville International Junior Marketing Association (SIJMA) during their recently held outreach program held at BF Homes Phase 3 Gymnasium and the RCPS Rotary Center. SOUTHVILLE MONARCHS AT THE NEW YORK TIMES WRITING COMPETITION

Three high school students from SISC were named finalists in the secondary school category of the 2018 New York Times Asia-Pacific Writing Competition. The essays of Miguel Dominico Alzona, Akisha Julianne Cu and Vincent Romero were among the 30 finalists chosen out of thousands of entries submitted to the regional essay competition.

Responding to the question “Can people still achieve a better life through migration?”, Alzona wrote a 500-word opinion piece entitled “Africa’s Curtain Call,” Cu penned “The Elusive Dream of Migrants” and Romero composed “Immigration, The New Colossus.”

In pursuit of its advocacy to raise awareness about mental health, the Psychology Society of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), will conduct a talk on the current updates regarding suicide prevention and approaches to battling mental and emotional struggles on October 16, 2018, 1:00PM, at Luxembourg Hall.

Held in partnership with the Human Resources Society and INK Society, the event will focus particularly on STIGMA as the next battle for mental health. Southville Monarchs shine in international science assessment

Students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) received awards in the 2018 International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) – Science that drew over one million student entries from more than twenty countries. Ervin Joshua Bautista of Gr. 6 – Perseverance, Robert Jeremiah Rivera of Gr. 7 – Resilience, and Gwyneth Margaux Tangog of Gr. 9 – Compassion were awarded the High Distinction Certificate for placing in the top 1% of all participants in their level. Additionally, Robert Jeremiah Rivera will be awarded a medal and a medal winner’s certificate for getting the top score of his level.
